Bits of our story...
And family1981
LOLA CASADEMUNT, a women’s fashion and accessories brand, was founded over 43 years ago by Mrs Lola Casademunt. The founder began handcrafting bows, headbands and other hair accessories in 1981 with her unique personal style in the basement of her home in Cardedeu, Barcelona. Her passion and ambition soon led to her pieces being sold in nearby stores. And in less than two years, her attention to detail, artisanal craftsmanship and use of high-quality materials made LOLA CASADEMUNT a national leader in hair accessories.
Not long after, Maite Casademunt, Lola’s daughter, joined the team at a young age after completing her Design studies. Her arrival soon marked a turning point for the company, enriching it with the creation of a fashion line. Her dynamic, entrepreneurial spirit, paired with her creativity and passion for designing unique styles for women, established the company as a leading fashion brand in Spain.

Since 2018, Maite Casademunt has been at the helm of the company as creative director. Hand in hand with her husband, Fernando Espona, they serve as owners and presidents of the company, aiming to bring a professional transformation to the business. Fernando brings his business vision to the goal of growing LOLA CASADEMUNT, while Maite contributes her expertise, rooted in a heritage of over 40 years, combined with enthusiasm, fresh ideas and her unique perspective.

In 2020, during the pandemic, Paco Sánchez, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in the fashion industry, joined as CEO. A strategic plan was put into place with this new addition, focusing on brand promotion and rebranding, internationalisation and, most importantly, the professionalisation of LOLA CASADEMUNT.
The company’s growth in recent years, as well as the robustness of the business and brand positioning, paved the way for LOLA CASADEMUNT to embark on international expansion in 2021. Today is operates in more than 30 international markets.
LOLA CASADEMUNT currently has 24 brand stores, 4 franchises and 42 El Corte Inglés corners across Spain and Portugal, alongside more than 800 multi-brand retail points throughout both countries. And for the online channel, it features its own website, the Zalando Marketplace, as well as the El Corte Inglés e-commerce platform in Spain and Portugal. This firmly establishes it as an omnichannel fashion company.
As part of its international expansion plan, LOLA CASADEMUNT has established 2 franchises in Saudi Arabia, 13 corners (11 in Palacio de Hierro in Mexico and 2 in Cimaco shopping centres in Mexico) and 685 multi-brand retail points in over 30 countries. When it comes to international e-commerce, the brand continues to grow through Palacio de Hierro’s online platform in Mexico, the Zalando Marketplace across 12 countries and its own e-commerce site, which is already present in 9 countries.
